Seo In Guk and Lee Sung Jae still cuts from “The King’s Face”

Seo In Guk and Lee Sung Jae‘s still cuts from the royal sauna scene for upcoming drama The King’s Face have garnered attention on November 17th.

In the photos, Seo In Guk and Lee Sung Jae are in a sauna room wearing traditional, silk robes. While Lee Sung Jae, who will be playing the role of the King, is leisurely enjoying the the scene,  Seo In Guk, on the other hand, looked strained. The tensed scene will illustrate the king’s test on the masquerade.

Although the netizens were frenzied with Seo In Guk and Lee Sung Jae showing the upper half of their bodies, they are also interested in the setting itself as well. This will be the first time for a historical drama to show an ancient sauna setting, which has been recorded to be similar to modern jjimjilbangs in Korea. Since the Sejong period, such royal sauna rooms were used for various purposes, including, medical treatments.

During the filming, Lee Sung Jae humorously mentioned to Seo In Guk, “You need to get naked for the sake of the drama.” Seo In Guk answered, “As a senior, I would follow your lead.”

Meanwhile, the pilot episode of the highly anticipated historical drama The King’s Face will broadcast on November 19th.
