Jimin has gone through a lot.

BTS‘s Jimin has had to endure a lot on his journey to becoming one of the top artists in the world. There have been multiple instances where Jimin broke the hearts of ARMY (BTS’s fandom) with his confessions. Here are 4 confessions made by Jimin that will break your heart.

1. Jimin speaking on his past severe diet

During an episode of Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, Jimin revealed that he went on a severe diet during the “Blood, Sweat and Tears” era. Jimin stated that he wanted to look handsome and decided to eat only 1 meal a day for 10 days straight.

While looking at the mirror during our ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ practice, I wanted to become handsome.

So I went on a diet where I survived off of one meal for 10 days.

While Jimin did lose a lot of weight, he experienced some harsh side effects due to this diet, such as passing out during dance practices. Thankfully, Jimin never attempted this kind of diet again.

However, I learned to never diet like that again.

2. Jimin revealing that he almost didn’t debut in BTS

While it might be hard to believe, Jimin almost didn’t debut in BTS due to his dancing skills. Jimin majored in contemporary dance, which is a lot different from the style of dancing idol groups do. So, Jimin had a bit of a tough time when he became a trainee.

I majored in contemporary dance. Since the style of dancing was totally different than the choreography of an idol group, it became a difficult challenge for me.

There were even some people at Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’s agency, who didn’t want Jimin to join the group.

(I can’t say their names) but there were a lot of people who opposed me (joining the team).

However, none of this stopped Jimin, as he continued to work hard and was able to debut as a member of BTS.

3. Jimin talking about how he used to not be able to relieve his stress

In 2017, Jimin shared that he was hanging out with his friends more often and taking care of himself in his free time.

Since last year, I’ve been going out and hanging out with my friends more often.

Before, I used to think, ‘I’m going to live in the practicing studio. I’ll rest in the studio, and I’ll sleep in the studio’.

— Jimin

He also shared that in the past, he didn’t really have a way to relieve stress, so meeting up with people was a “big moment”, as he now had a way to relieve his stress.

After living like that for a while, I suddenly thought, ‘What else am I doing besides performing?’ I realized I never thought to relieve my stress, but I soon found out that meeting the people I want to meet is my way of relieving stress.

— Jimin

Not only did going out with his friends help relieve his stress, but it also helped him focus better on work.

After going out, I’m able to better focus on my work. To sum it all up, I’m good at having fun.

4. Jimin speaking about his mistake on stage

During an episode of Burn The Stage, Jimin was seen getting upset at himself due to a “mistake” in his solo performance, as his voice cracked and his microphone kept slipping off.

Jimin also explained how he gets stressed when he does solo live performances, as he wants to put on a perfect show for fans, so any kind of mistake is a big deal to him.

After seeing this, ARMYs were surprised at how Jimin was getting stressed over a mistake that many didn’t even notice.
