5 Idols you didn’t realize were actually huge gamer nerds

These idols are also high ranking gamers!

Idols have hobbies too, and some of them are huge gamer nerds, playing popular role-playing games like League of Legends, Starcraft, Sudden Attack and Overwatch. With the rise of technology and video game popularity in South Korea, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that these idols not only love playing video games but are actually super good at it!

1. Mina (TWICE)

Mina is a huge fan of the online game Elsword and even modeled for the game, but she’s always been a massive gamer.

Elsword is a free-to-play role playing game featuring real-time action game play. Mina loves playing in her downtime and wishes the other TWICE members were gamers, too.

2. Jungkook (BTS)

Jungkook is a mobile gamer but a well-known fan of the Blizzard game Overwatch, a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game with leagues all over the world. He’s known to play the characters McCree and Widowmaker.

But all the boys are fans of gaming including League of Legends and Starcraft.

3. LE (EXID)

LE plays Diablo 3, a dungeon-crawler action role playing game, and is ranked in the fantasy online battle game League of Legends.

She loves gaming and is vocal about how much fun she finds it!

4. Lee Min Ho

Despite his busy schedule, actor Lee Min Ho is a Diamond tier League of Legend gamer. There are five divisions in the online game, (V through I, with I being the highest) and six tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Challenger), meaning he is the second-highest possible rank.

He’s said that if he wasn’t an actor, he would be a pro gamer or end up working for a game company. He often plays PC games but also mobile games when he’s on the run.

5. Heechul (Super Junior)

Heechul is a well-known League of Legends gamer, having gamed on the air and also made a special appearance as a commentator during a 2016 RPG competition.

Holding a top ranking position, Heechul was also the head leader of ‘Heechul’s gaming crew’ on SBS Game Show, gathering various idols.

He often plays with EXO‘s Baekhyun, who is also an avid gamer. The two played in SM Entertainment‘s League of Legends Super Celeb League in 2016 against pro gamers, but Heechul said his gamer rival is Lee Min Ho!
