BTS And BLACKPINK Competed For The #1 Spot On Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart This Week, Plus 9 Other K-Pop Artists That Made The List

K-Pop often dominates this chart, and this week is no exception.

Each week, Billboard ranks 25 songs on its World Digital Song Sales Chart based on the best-selling international digital singles of that week in the United States. K-Pop songs have long dominated the chart, oftentimes taking up a majority of the list each week! This week, a total of 11 different K-Pop artists ranked, including a couple that, as usual, have several different placements on the chart. Here are the results for the week of July 18.

25. “We Know the Way” by Opetaia Foa’i and Lin-Manuel Miranda

This popular Moana song has been on the chart for 142 weeks now, coming in at #21 last week and peaking in the past at #1. For a movie that came out in November of 2016, it’s impressive that it’s still ranking at all!

24. “Ready To” by Michiru Kagemori

This anime theme song jumped onto the chart this week for the first time at the #24 place.

23. “Telephone” by EXO-SC ft. 10cm

This is the EXO duo’s first week on the chart, ranking at #23. They’re quite a popular sub-unit, however, so they might be able to reach a higher place at some point!

22. “DDU-DU DDU-DU” by BLACKPINK

“DDU-DU DDU-DU” is BLACKPINK’s most-watched music video for a reason, and has spent a total of 76 weeks on the Billboard chart since it came out. It has peaked at the #1 place in the past, and dropped from the #12 position it held last week.

21. “Night Running” by Shin Sakiura ft. AAAMYYY

This anime theme song made its debut onto the list this week at the #21 place, though it certainly has the potential to rank higher at some point!

20. “Left & Right” by SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN has been on the chart for 3 weeks now with “Left & Right”, with a peak at the #8 spot during its first week and dropping from the #10 place it had last week.

19. “Gangnam Style” by PSY

“Gangnam Style” is a huge classic, with a whopping 348 weeks on the chart (the most of any K-Pop act). It has placed at the #1 spot for 50 of those weeks, and fell this week from the #15 place last week.

18. “Daechwita” by AGUST D

AGUST D’s incredibly loved comeback has now spent 7 weeks on the list, and it peaked at the #1 spot during its debut which is incredibly impressive for a solo artist!

17. “Play” by Chungha ft. Changmo

This is “Play”‘s first week on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, and it will be interesting to see if it jumps to a higher position on the list next week or at some other point!

16. “Yuve Yuve Yu” by The Hu ft. From Ashes to New

“Yuve Yuve Yu” has spent 56 weeks in total on the list, dropping from the #13 spot last week and with a peak at the #2 place at one point.

15. “Woman” by Rema

This is Rema’s first week charting with “Woman”, placing at #15.

14. “Kill This Love” by BLACKPINK

Even though “Kill This Love” came out well over a year ago, it has been on and off the charts repeatedly ever since its release. It has spent 62 weeks total on the chart, peaking at #1 and dropping this week from #8’s spot last week.

13. “God’s Menu” by Stray Kids

This much-loved Stray Kids’ comeback has spent 4 weeks on the Billboard list now, peaking at #4 on its debut week. It was at #7 last week, but could potentially rank higher again at some point.

12. “Jerusalema” by Master KG ft. Burna Boy and Nomcebo Zikode

“Jerusalema” has spent 3 weeks total on the chart, peaking at #6 at its debut on the list and dropping this week from the #11 spot last week.

11. “Filter” by BTS

Jimin‘s solo song from Map of the Soul: 7 has spent an impressive number of weeks on the chart, with 18 weeks total and a peak at the #3 spot. It fell from the #9 spot last week, but it could easily move up again in the future.

10. “Maria” by Hwasa

This is Hwasa’s 2nd week on this list, having peaked at the #6 spot last week and dropping down to 10th place this week, but it’s still impressive for a solo artist to spend 2 weeks in a row on the chart!

9. “My Time” by BTS

This is “My Time”‘s 18th week on the World Digital Song Sales Chart, with a peak at the #2 place closer to the album’s release and hopping up from the #14 position it was at last week.

8. “Black Swan” by BTS

“Black Swan” jumped back onto the music chart this week, not charting last week but with a total of 13 weeks on it since the album came out and peaking at #1 various weeks.

7. “Monster” by Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Irene

This is Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Irene’s first week on the World Digital Song Sales Chart, and the #7 spot is pretty good for their debut song as a duo!

6. “Stay Gold” by BTS

BTS’s beautifully aesthetic Japanese single has spent 3 weeks on the chart now, debuting at the #1 spot and spending last week at #2.

5. “Pporappippam” by Sunmi

This is Sunmi’s second week on the chart with her latest song, and both times she has listed at the #5 spot.

4. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by and far has dominated the World Digital Song Sales Chart since its launch, with a whopping 549 weeks on the chart and 336 of those weeks at the #1 spot.

3. “Wolf Totem” by The Hu ft. Jacoby Shaddix

The most popular non-K-Pop song on the chart this week, “Wolf Totem” has spent a total of 56 weeks on the chart, hopping up from the #4 spot last week with a peak at the #1 spot at some point.

2. “Moon” by BTS

This is the highest place that “Moon” has made on the list, and though it wasn’t on the chart for a while before this week, it has spent a total of 5 weeks on the chart since Map of the Soul: 7 came out.

1. “How You Like That?” by BLACKPINK

With two weeks on the chart now, BLACKPINK has dominated this list since it came out, with their debut last week also at the number 1 spot on the list!
