So many things happen in the K-Pop world every day that it’s impossible to remember absolutely everything that goes down. Here’s a list of highlights from last September to refresh your memory!

 

1. BTS crushed sales records with Love Yourself: Her

Love Yourself: Her sold more than 750,000 copies in its first week, following its September 18 release.

 

2. BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” MV reached 150 million views in record time

It is now the fastest K-pop group MV to reach 150 million views, following the previous record of 132 days set by TWICE’s “TT.”

 

3. Comeback announcements

EXID, B1A4, Wanna One, MONSTA X, SHINee‘s Taemin, TWICE, Super Junior, and more all announced their near-future comebacks in September last year.

 

4. Debut anniversaries

Many K-Pop groups celebrated their debut anniversaries last September. DIA and UP10TION celebrated their 2nd, f(x) their 8th, and 2PM their 9th, just to name a few!

 

5. TVXQ! opened official social media accounts

On September 25, TVXQ! posted this polaroid to celebrate the launch of their new Twitter an Instagram accounts.

 

6. BTOB reached 1 million followers on Twitter

They now have 1.39 million!

 

7. BTS dropped their “DNA” MV on September 18

 

8. B1A4 dropped their “Rollin’” MV on September 25

 

9. iKON’s Bobby released his solo album LOVE AND FALL

He also released the MV for “I LOVE YOU”, on September 14.

 

10. Sunmi took her 5th win with “Gashina” on Inkigayo

She won for the week beginning with September 18. Second place went to EXO’s “Power” and third place went to Yoon Jong Shin’s “Like It.”

 

11. EXO dropped “Power” and topped the real-time charts

 

12. BTS dropped their collaboration with The Chainsmokers, “The Best of Me”

 

13. News of FTISLAND’s Minhwan and LABOUM’s Yulhee relationship broke

The two are now happily married and have given birth to a beautiful baby!

 

14. GFRIEND’s Yerin temporarily stopped activities, due to appendicitis

Last year, during the Global K-pop Super Concert, Yerin complained of abdominal pain and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was diagnosed with appendicitis.

 

15. Super Junior’s Siwon received accolades for his UNICEF work

On September 13, Siwon uploaded a photo of himself holding a letter of recognition from UNICEF for all of the charity work he has done for them.

 

16. GFRIEND dropped their “Summer Rain” MV

It was uploaded the same day that Siwon posted about his UNICEF letter.

 

17. TWICE was confirmed to have filmed a new music video for their comeback

Last September, JYP Entertainment confirmed that TWICE had filmed a music video in Canada for their upcoming comeback. The MV was for their smashhit “Likey”.

 

18. Jeon Jiyoon (Jenyer) left her agency

This former 4MINUTE member left agency Robin K. Entertainment to explore other career opportunities.

 

19. Hyolyn left her agency

September 2017 seems to have been the month of new beginnings because former SISTAR member Hyolyn announced that she too would be leaving her agency, Starship Entertainment. She made the announcement in a handwritten letter to fans on Instagram.

 

20. YG Entertainment artists swept the international iTunes album charts

BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon and Taeyang, and iKON‘s Bobby were revealed to be the top Korean solo artists with the most No. 1’s on international iTunes album charts for September 2017.

 

21. The After School members reunited to celebrate Nana’s birthday

Both current and former After School members celebrated Nana‘s birthday (September 14) at a party. Afterward, Nana shared a photo from the gathering with fans on Instagram.

 

22. Yesung shared photos from Super Junior’s reunion

On September 17, Yesung uploaded two photos of himself with Kangin, Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Siwon, who was recently discharged from the military.
