“Fans” in Their 30s Sentenced to Prison for Illegally Attempting to Sit Next to their Favorite Idol on the Plane

The two women used illegal means in hopes to sit closer to their favorite idol on the plane.

Two women in their 30s have been sentenced to probation by the court for using illegal means to attempt sitting close to their favorite idol on the plane.

Ms. A (34), who was charged for violating the law regarding the promotion of information and communication network use and protection of information, was sentenced to 6 months in prison, 2 years in probation, and 160 hours of community service.

Ms. B (30), who was charged for obstruction of business, was charged to 4 months in prison, 2 years in probation, and 160 hours of community service.

According to the sentencing, Ms. A illegally obtained the list of business passengers of a flight that was supposed to be boarded by a member of an idol group on October 25, 2019. The list contained the names and reservation numbers of the passengers, and Ms. A and Ms. B used it to cancel their seat reservations.

It was later revealed that they committed the crimes in order to sit closer to their favorite idol.
