Apink’s Oh Hayoung Withdraws From Soccer Team To Prevent Any Further Misunderstanding

She felt that this was the best choice.

Apink’s Oh Hayoung has officially decided to leave the female idol soccer team “FC Rumor W.” On August 11 through a live stream with fans, she revealed that she has left the team.

TWICE’s Jihyo and Mina have also left the team. We didn’t leave because of a misunderstanding but because of the damage that the people close to us might receive from the misunderstanding and speculation about this matter.

She felt that although this was just a simple hobby for them, it had taken a wrong turn in terms of intention. “It was a hobby with a good purpose but if people saw it in a way that was contrary to our intentions, there is no point in doing it. I saw posts from fans asking for me to leave the team and so even though I am genuine, others might not think that way, so I decided to leave to just block out that problem altogether.”

Although she wanted to post videos and photos to clear any misunderstanding, she ended up not posting it as she felt that it would affect any non-celebrity members on the team.

Lastly, she responded to the fans who felt bad for what had happened. “This is nothing to be sorry about. I want to let my fans know that there is nothing to worry about.”

Previously, female idols posted photos from their FC Rumor W soccer team and unintentionally gained haters who felt that the team was made for the purpose to “fraternize” with the members of the men’s idol soccer team with the same name.
