ATEEZ To Promote Korean Culture Internationally As An Honorary Ambassador For Korea

What an honor for this talented rookie group!

On May 8, it was announced that ATEEZ were granted the position as an honorary ambassador for KCOIS (the Korean Culture and Information Service). This organization aims to spread and enhance Korea’s image globally, and runs Korean centers worldwide.

As an honorary ambassador of the organization, ATEEZ will help to promote Korean culture abroad! They were appointed as ambassadors by Park Yang Woo, the Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in South Korea.

They’ve already begun their role as ambassadors by taking part in promotional videos for Talk Talk Korea, to take part in the “Overcome Together” campaign which aims to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through helpful tips.

ATEEZ is only the second K-Pop group to hold this position as an ambassador under KCOIS, with Stray Kids being appointed the position last year.

Park Yang Woo spoke about the importance of solidarity and working together during the coronavirus outbreak. “Currently, people around the world are struggling with feelings of isolation while in quarantine in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to share Korea’s wonderful culture and Korean Wave content with people overseas as we provide comfort and a feeling of solidarity to help people get through COVID-19. I hope that this will be even a small source of hope for those in Korea and abroad.”

ATEEZ may be a rookie group, but their quickly rising popularity especially among international fans of K-Pop makes them the perfect fit to work as ambassadors for Korean culture. Look forward to seeing what else the idols offer in their new honorary role!
