BTS’ “You Never Walk Alone” Just Earned Them A Huge Achievement

BTS are the only Korean act to earn this achievement.

On February 19, BTS hit yet another milestone in their career: their 2017 repackage album “You Never Walk Alone” has been certified silver in the U.K. by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), earning the group their tenth album certification in the country!

For an album to earn a silver certification by the BPI, it needs to have had 60,000 units sold between pure sales and streaming equivalents. The album can move on to gold at 100,000 units and platinum at 300,000 units.

The five other BTS albums that have reached silver certifications are “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever” (2016), “Love Yourself: Her” (2017), “Face Yourself” (2018), “Love Yourself: Tear” (2018) and “Map of the Soul: 7” (2020). Two more albums, “Love Yourself: Answer” (2018) and “Map of the Soul: Persona” (2019) went one step further and earned a gold certification, therefore counting as two certifications each.

The only other K-Pop artists to earn certifications in the U.K are Psy and BLACKPINK, with the latter being the first K-Pop group to earn a song certification. However, “Love Yourself: Answer” was the first album to earn a certification and BTS remain the only Korean act to have full albums certified by the BPI.
