BTS Reveal The Details Behind The Making Of The 2019 Melon Music Awards Performance

BTS truly never ceases to amaze us.

On November 30, BTS shocked fans with their jaw-dropping 37 minute performance at the 2019 Melon Music Awards. Even after the show was over, news and media coverage about the performance did not die down. The performance theme was titled Map of the soul : The Show. The show covered three main keywords along with their MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA album.

1. Dream

The show starts off with all the members sleeping peacefully. It smoothly transitions into RM’s “Intro : Persona” rap before going straight into “Boy In Luv.” They took it back to their roots with the song and outfits to reminisce a time when they were young boys chasing their dreams.

2. Love

They go on to perform “Boy With Luv” to show them living their dreams and learning how to love themselves. They also showcase the love they have for ARMYs through the song “Mikrokosmos.” At the end of this performance, they lit up the screen with the phrase ‘I love you’ written in 35 different languages.

3. Happiness

The next portion of the performance was to show their happiness they have received from their fans and dreams. They graced the stage with individual stage performances before performing their final song “Dionysus.”

This year’s Melon Music Awards performance took 3 months to develop and prepare. Even with their busy schedules, they actively participated in all aspects of the performance.

This large scale production brought in 270 staff members with 170 performers, 30 make-up artists, and 218 outfits. It also took about a month to edit their songs to be used for the solo dance performances as well.

BTS’s performance this year did not disappoint and fans cannot wait to see what other performances they have in store for the rest of this year.
