BTS’s Suga Shares The Surprising Story Behind His “Seesaw” Door

It was all a misunderstanding.

BTS fans love to analyze everything from lyrics to stage sets. What does it mean? How does it connect? The possibilities are endless!

In Episode 4 of BTS’s Break The Silence docuseries, Suga answered a question about the symbolism behind the glass door from his “Trivia 轉: Seesaw” stage.

The door can be interpreted in a number of ways, but the truth is, it didn’t have a deep meaning, originally. It was actually the result of a misunderstanding between Suga and BTS’s directors.

“The team of directors thought that clicking noise was the sound of a door closing,” Suga explained. “It’s actually the sound of the “play” button on a cassette deck.”

“The clicking sound of a cassette deck,” he said, laughing softly. “That’s what it’s supposed to be.”

Whoops! Thankfully, the poor prop makers didn’t have to disassemble the door and start from scratch. See how the door features in this “Seesaw” performance:
