BTS’s V Gets Sentimental About What His Father Really Means To Him

“My father is my dream…”

BTS recently made an appearance on tvN‘s You Quiz On The Block where V opened up about the role his father played in his life.

Regarding their past as trainees, V shared that the most difficult part about it was the fact that he couldn’t see his family as often as he wanted.

My parents lived in Geojedo. It took them forever to come to Seoul, but they came just to see me for 30 minutes. That made my heart ache.

He also added that his father was a big part of his life as well as those of his fellow members when they were trainees.

He bought lots of milk and bread and brought them for us to eat. When my father came to visit on weekends and then left, I was sad. I even cried and told him not to leave.

And when he once vented to his father about wanting to quit, he said something that still resonates with him to this day.

Being a trainee was so hard that I called him crying. When I told him I wanted to quit, he told me, ‘If it’s too hard, you can quit. There are lots of other jobs. Let’s look for one together.’ I had nothing to say to that. I felt embarrassed that I said that in the first place. As time passed, those words touched me.

V is known to resemble his father, who’s undoubtedly very handsome.

But for V, not only is his father his dream, but he also thinks his father is more handsome than he is.

My father is my dream. I resemble my father a lot. I want my personality to be more like his, too. If you look at old photos, my father was more handsome than I am.
