Police Drop Choi Jonghoon’s Bribery Charges

They’ve concluded that allegations were groundless.

On April 18, the police concluded that the bribery allegations against former FTISLAND member Choi Jonghoon were groundless.

Choi Jonghoon was previously charged with attempting to bribe a police officer after getting caught driving under the influence of alcohol. As a result, he reported to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on March 16 to undergo investigation.

Choi Jonghoon, who was released approximately 21 hours after beginning the investigation, responded to questions regarding his bribery allegations by stating that it was not true.

Meanwhile, the police officer who caught Choi Jonghoon driving under the influence of alcohol in 2016 stated during his investigation that Choi Jonghoon offered him ₩2,000,000 KRW ($1,758 USD) to cover up his DUI charges. He also stated that he refused the offer.

While Choi Jonghoon’s bribery charges have been dropped, he is still charged with sharing illegal sexual content in the group chatroom involving Seungri and Jung Joon Young.
