JYP Entertainment has legally filed a civil damages lawsuit against the director of Dexter Lab, Han Sa Min

According to reports on August 17th, JYP Entertainment filed the case against Han Sa Min for abruptly cancelling his commitments for 2PM’s music video filming which resulted to their comeback promotions shortened. The complaint was filed at Seoul Central District Court with the agency suing for approximately 50 million Korean won in damages.

It can be recalled that JYP Entertainment allegedly had an initial agreement with Dexter Lab for them to produce and film 2PM’s music video for their “My House” promotions. However, as the estimate of the costs, filming time, cast and other details were submitted as they prepared for the shoot, Dexter Lab cancelled the set commitment and only explained, “Due to my personal relationship with an artist making a release at the same time I cannot shoot their music video.”

This led to to the agency to seek legal action as the cancellation caused problems not only towards 2PM’s scheduled shoot, but also their album release date, promotional plans and schedules.

Meanwhile, after the receipt of the complaint, the court is bound to coordinate and schedule a mediation with the two parties.
