(★BREAKING) Korean-Kazakh Olympic Bronze Medalist Denis Ten Stabbed to Death

Rest in peace, Denis Ten.

Figure skater Denis Ten, a bronze medalist at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, has been stabbed to death in his hometown of Almaty, Kazakhstan. He was 25 years of age.

The Ministry of Healthcare in Almaty released the news of his passing away on July 19th, 2018.

 

Local news reports claimed, “Denis Ten caught two unidentified persons trying to steal mirrors from his car.”

“As a result of a brawl, citizen Denis Ten was stabbed. An investigation has been initiated; measures are being taken to identify and detain suspects.”

Denis Ten was rushed to the hospital shortly after the stab wound to his thigh. While the figure skater fought for his life, he had suffered over 3 liters of blood loss and ultimately lost his life.

The paramedics and doctors are said to have tried CPR for two hours, but Denis Ten was unable to return to life.

 

The Minister of Internal Affairs confirmed, “An investigation has been initiated.”

“Measures are being taken to identify and detain suspects.”

Figure skating fans are terrified in shock at the news of the brutal death of such a talented young man. Koreans, who have developed a fond affection for the skater for his Korean background, are mourning his death with the rest of the world.

“I was born and raised in Kazakhstan. All the medals I win, all my accomplishments, are for Kazakhstan. But without Korea, I would not be here. I have always been Korean and I will continue to be Korean in the future. This is my destiny. I’m proud of it.”
