Minzy Opens Up On The Loneliness She Felt At The Start Of Her Debut With 2NE1

Life as an idol is tough.

From her successful time in legendary group 2NE1 to her thriving solo career, Minzy is a huge icon in the K-Pop world. While her career seems glamorous, Minzy recently opened up on some difficult times.

Minzy recently sat down at SBS Power FM‘s Young Street Radio and revealed some hard moments that she encountered during her career with the show’s host Red Velvet‘s Wendy.

Before Minzy discussed her hardships, Wendy mentioned that despite them being the same age and seeing each other at recordings, the two never had a moment to chat.

This prompted Minzy to bring up how lonely she was at the start of her debut. For those unaware, Minzy debuted at the young age of 16 and we all know how rough life can be at that age. While managing her career and life as a teen.

I have no friends. So I was very lonely at times. I had no one to talk to… so I kept everything to myself and that wasn’t so easy for me back when I was 16 years old.

While Minzy has had some obstacles in her career, she has proven her amazing talent! With her latest track, Minzy commented, “I took part in the lyrics for the first time in a year.

Minzy also expressed how much she misses her fans and stated that she’s put her emotions into her work.

I wrote the lyrics myself. It broke my heart that I couldn’t interact with my fans because of the pandemic. So I decided to share my feelings with words. I wanted them to really feel how dearly I missed them all, so I focused on expressing those strong emotions.
