MONSTA X made history when they performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City as a part of iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2018.
After their performance, entertainment show, Access, interviewed the members about their recent achievements. However, the interviewer suddenly changed the focus of the interview towards BTS’s Grammy nomination.
“Did you hear that BTS got a Grammy nomination today?”
Access even spun the interview’s focus to MONSTA X finding out about BTS’s nomination when they uploaded it to YouTube.
The description below also focused more on their reaction to BTS than their own achievements.
The comment section was soon overflowing with netizens criticizing Access’s choice of questions and wording.
MONSTA X fans were furious that Access tried to cast a shadow over the group’s achievements by choosing to focus on BTS for more clicks.
This is incredibly disrespectful to both MX and BTS. You've erased a pretty huge achievement that Monsta X accomplished AND you're trying to use BTS's name to get more clicks. Shame on Access, shame on this interviewer, shame on the social media manager who drafted this bullshit. https://t.co/7flbVPvF3y

Nah access. This ain’t it at all. There is no reason for this title or question when Monsta X is doing their own thing and promoting their music. Props to monsta x for handling it well. https://t.co/oiJUfneKgi

Fans are demanding that Access apologize for disrespecting the members.
Well I’m never watching another Access interview again…BTS or otherwise. Pls sort it out @accessonline and apologise I can’t even bring myself to watch that past the first time.
Congrats to MONSTA X FOR MAKING HISTORY! 👏👏 ~H https://t.co/T9G43KvSGK
