In their pre-debut days, BTS dined at Yoojung Sikdang nearly every day, eating most (if not all) of their meals there. They visited so often that Yoojung Sikdang has become the unofficial “BTS restaurant”, frequently visited by fans.

In Episode 1 of BTS’s 2013 show Rookie King, the members expressed their love for the restaurant. For Suga, who missed his mom’s cooking, this “aunt’s” food made him feel at home.

In those days the owner, Kang Sun Ja, got to know BTS not as to-be idols, but as seven “well-rounded” (and hungry) boys who had something special about them.

They are just well-rounded. Not many people their age are like that. Every time we met they greeted and I thought there is something different about them.

Seeing how hard BTS worked, Kang Sun Ja developed a maternal love for each one of them.

Their success is not just pure luck but thanks to their effort. They really put their blood and sweat into their work. At times I felt like their parents would feel for their children if they saw them. When they practiced so hard, they would come upstairs from the studio in the basement with their T-shirts and hair all covered in sweat. They would practice every day from the morning to 10 p.m., sometimes they would just practice the night away. They worked that hard.

This OG ARMY has watched BTS succeed against all odds to earn their place in the hall of fame. Recently, she celebrated their debut at No.1 on Billboard‘s “Hot 100” chart with cake and a song.

After singing, Kang Sun Ja congratulated “our Bangtan” like a proud parent, full of love and adoration for those hungry boys who became legends.
