Actor Song Kang, who has starred in various dramas such as Navillera, Love Alarm, and Sweet Home, opened up about how he approaches new and different roles in an interview with Cosmopolitan.
As the cover model for the most recent issue, Song Kang’s interview included questions about his personal life and his career, discussing the different roles he has played and what he does in order to stay excited about his acting despite having an incredibly busy schedule.
Every time I act, I am excited about meeting a new person [character], different from the ones I’ve played before. Hyun Soo [from Sweet Home], Sun Oh [Love Alarm], Chae Rok [Navillera], and Jae-eon [Nevertheless] who you will see soon, are all people of the same age, but they have different personalities and are living through different situations.
Now as he’s wrapping up filming for Nevertheless, a JTBC drama based on a webtoon of the same name, he reveals how he stays focused on filming and portraying the new character he has to embody.
Not long ago, I left Chae Rok of Navillera and now I’m acting as Nevertheless‘ Jae Eon. In order to focus filming, I think about what I would do if I was actually Jae Eon in my daily life.
He also revealed that although he does get tired because his daily routine is so busy, he feels thankful. He knows he will look back at his days of being a rookie actor and be grateful for the hard work he put into each role.
His upcoming romance drama, Nevertheless, revolves around a man, Jae Eon, who likes to flirt but doesn’t commit to dating, and a woman, Na Bi (played by Han So Hee), who wants to date but doesn’t believe in love. We’re looking forward to seeing him in the lead role when the drama premieres on June 19!
