JUNNY shared his journey as a music producer, and revealed the story behind the first song he sold which jumpstarted his career. Out of the blue, a freelancer had contacted him to see if he could provide some demos for an artist in China. He admitted he had no idea who she was, or who the artist was, but went along with it anyways. And it turned out to be the best decision he made, as the Chinese artist turned out to be Luhan.

JUNNY expressed his shock at the news, as at the time he was just “in my parent’s basement making music, making no money off of music.” Luhan offered to buy out the song, and JUNNY signed the contract, marking the start of his journey on becoming a renowned producer in the K-Pop scene.

So as a recent college graduate at the age of 21, he decided to use the money from the song to permanently move to Korea to further his career.

Since then, he’s been credited as a writer and composer for EXO Kai‘s “Mmmh,” NCT‘s “From Home,” IU‘s “Troll,” and many more.
