SeeYa Tearfully Explains Why the Group Disbanded Back in 2011

The popular group debuted in 2006 and disbanded in 2011.

On a recent episode of JTBC’s Sugarman 3, the former girl group, SeeYa appeared on the show to open up about their disbandment in 2011.

SeeYa performed their hit song, “Lovely Sweet Heart” and shed tears out of delight to be performing again.

Nam Gyuri confessed that it had been such a long time that they hesitated on appearing on the show.

It’s been a long time since we sang. We hesitated a lot before coming on the show.

– Nam Gyuri

Kim Yeonji then spoke up about the group’s disbandment and what led to it.

There were other external factors as well, and we were so busy with our activities, that we never got a chance to share our true feelings with one another. If we opened up and talked to each other, maybe we would have understood each other better.

– Kim Yeonji

Lee Boram also added that there were misunderstandings and that she wished she was more mature and talked to Nam Gyuri about her early departure.

There were things that were untrue that I ended up believing, and if I was more mature at the time and talked to Gyuri, things would have been different. And I was scared of Gyuri. I was afraid of something bad happening to her. I was just thankful she ws still alive.

– Lee Boram

In response, Nam Gyuri clarified why she decided to leave the group, ultimately leading to the group’s disbandment, and that it was the best choice at the time.

If I think about it, we were very loved, topped the charts, and we had so many fans that people thought we were happy. But we were just young girls in their early 20s who just entered the real world. I was really young, and I was scared. So I think leaving the group was the best thing I could do for myself.

– Nam Gyuri

Despite their disbandment, the SeeYa members shared that they never forgot about the group and that all of their memories together were happy ones.
