Idols Don’t Get Paid a Single Cent for Attending Year-End Award Ceremonies According to Crayon Pop’s Way

Idols are usually just honored to attend.

Way, a former member of Crayon Pop, recently shared a video on her YouTube channel, Wayland that covered information regarding year-end award ceremonies in Korea.

What drew the most attention was Way’s answer to the question of whether or not idols get money prizes for winning awards at the ceremonies.

There’s no money. It’s just a trophy. They don’t pay you for being there either.

– Way

But Way did add that there was some compensation for performing in music programs.

They pay you at music programs though. Since it’s an event held by the music program, the broadcaster pays you for being there. But it’s not even enough to pay for transport. You could say it’s nothing.

Way then added that it’s an honor to be a part of the year-end ceremonies.

But on the other hand, it’s an honor to participate in the year-end ceremonies.

– Way

According to Way, just being a part of it is such an honor that many idols still participate in the year-end award ceremonies without being paid a cent.
